Well, there we have it for another year folks! Ipswich was in great shape for the evening's racing and the weather was very pleasant, if a bit close! We were not subjected to a first corner pile-up as anticipated and it was a pretty interesting race up till the yellow flag stoppage which, whilst bringing the remaining cars closer together, did end up turning it into a bit of a procession, due to the low numbers still in the race! That said, Gilchrist who started from pole position, maintained total control throughout the 35 laps from the beginning and was basically un-catchable. Steve Jackson, Jason Cooper and Shaun Brooker tried hard to reach him, but in vein. There were some good scrapes during the race with Ben Margoram effectively side-lining Ben Munford as well as tussling with Brooker. Pity the end of the race appeared to be a walkover by Gilchrist as we all love a good fight, but well done to him nonetheless for retaining his composure and holding-off a very hungry pack baying for a slice of the victory!!!

Very well done Stuart, keep that trophy safe in bonnie Scotland and we'll see you again next year for the re-match!
